The company estimated its revenue in the first four months may drop 4 per cent on-year to VND10.3 trillion.\u00a0\u2014 Photo pvpower.vn<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">H\u00c0 N\u1ed8I \u2014 A number of listed companies have announced lower earnings in April after closing for half of the month.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power) estimated revenue in April reached\u00a0VN\u01102.41 trillion (US$103.7 million), fulfilling 81 per cent of its\u00a0monthly\u00a0target.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This resulted in a 4 per cent annual decrease in total revenue after four months to\u00a0VN\u011010.3 trillion \u2013 equal to 30.4 per cent of the annual\u00a0goal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Retail giant Mobile World Investment Corporation (Mobile World) reported April revenue fell a fifth from the VN\u01109 trillion recorded in April 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The company explained that some of its stores were closed to fight COVID-19\u00a0while sales in April fell as demand for air conditioners dropped due to weather.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Mobile World recently lowered its full-year earnings target by 10 per cent in total revenue and 30 per cent in total profit for 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Seafood processor Nam Vi\u1ec7t Corporation, pharmaceutical firm Imexpharm, and textile companies Th\u00e0nh C\u00f4ng Textile and Garment Investment Trading JSC and TNG Investment and Trading JSC are among the others to\u00a0post\u00a0lower earnings in April.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Those companies are expecting their earnings to pick up in May and the following months as domestic consumption and international markets return to normal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On the other hand, some companies reported\u00a0profits despite\u00a0the disease and lockdown such as H\u1ea3i Ph\u00f2ng Thermal Power JSC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The northern thermal power firm announced profit in April of\u00a0VN\u0110103 billion, beating the month target by VN\u01104 billion despite output falling by\u00a07 per cent than targeted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the first four months, H\u1ea3i Ph\u00f2ng Thermal Power made VN\u0110397 billion in profit, fulfilling 42 per cent of its annual target.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Steelmaker Hoa Sen announced its revenue in April hit\u00a0VN\u01102.23 trillion with\u00a0profit of\u00a0VN\u011090 billion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Seven months into its fiscal year, which runs\u00a0from October 1 to September 30, Hoa Sen estimated its total revenue was VN\u011014.6 trillion \u2013 fulfilling half of its yearly plan. The firm estimated profit of\u00a0VN\u0110472 billion, beating\u00a0its\u00a0forecast by 18 per cent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Technology group FPT posted 13.5-16.8 per cent annual growth in revenue and post-tax profit in the first four-month period, which reached VN\u01108.84 trillion and VN\u01101.30 trillion, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Though corporate earnings were mixed in April, companies are expected to disclose business information on a monthly basis to inspire\u00a0investor\u00a0confidence\u00a0in their corporate governance, while\u00a0dealing with rumours that could negatively affect their results and share performances. \u2014 VNS<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A PetroVietnam Power facility.
